Our enigmatic Tony Hedley entered the North of England Masters over 50's tournament held in Pontefract during the weekend of 21st October 2016. This is one of six fixtures where players from all over the country compete. In what is a National competition Tony was unseeded and drawn against 3/4 seed Peter Lonsdale.
After a close hour long battle Tony lost 2-3, however he went onto the Plate competition where he won both his matches (Ian Gould3-2 and Shaun O'Donaghue 3-0 to secure the plate title. No small achievement with a strong National field.
Tony's aim is to accumulate sufficient ranking points to enter future events as a seeded player. Every little helps.
