Heating off just as weather turns cold!

Concordia Squash Players,
Just to give you the heads up. The squash court heating system has been dismantled. I have no idea what the plan is or how long we will be without heat. I'll let you know as soon as I know.
In the mean time take your thermals or cancel however it might be that this is a very short term issue. Fingers crossed.
Newbiggin courts are a viable alternative

Concordia Squash Players,
I couldn't get any information from the centre management so I went to see the site project manager. Our old heating units and all ducting has been removed by a demolition company.
The new 'slimline' ducting hasn't been made yet so installation of the new system isn't going to happen anytime soon.
The company responsible for the whole refurbishment, Screen and Foster ? are looking at placing temporary heaters on the balcony area (now closed to the public) A decision has not been made yet.
No time scale was offered so we're still in the dark. Incidentally, no one could offer an explanation for the lack of coordination but it's quite obvious the contractors had no idea they were supposed to bear us in mind when planning all of this.

Concordia Squash Players,
The temporary heating is due to be up and running by Monday pm (25th) however the contractors can't give any guarantees. I'm not confident so the Handicap is cancelled. I shall rearrange for later in the season.
Even if it were up and running there are no assurances that it's going to be any good !
We'll see. Please spread the word, some players don't check their email that often.

Will the new spinning class have a entrance and exit on the squash balcony or before you enter i wonder. Thinking about the possible distraction etc

Concordia Squash Players,
I've been up to our courts earlier this evening. There are now two relatively small heaters situated on the 'disabled' level balcony blowing warm air into the loft. I can't say how long they have been up and running and they may prove more effective over a few hours (I doubt it to be honest) little heat is reaching the courts themselves. The court temperatures aren't bad but then it is 13 degrees outside.
The campaign will continue with efforts to have the courts enclosed, we can get by without the balcony, doors at ground level to keep the heat in etc. etc. We await the fitting of our new system.
There appears to have been a political shake up at senior level within Active Northumberland with the CEO and others asked to stand down. How this will impact on us longer term, who knows. I just wonder "what's next".
The door replacement for court 3 may be sooner rather than later, lets hope so.
I will suggest that team captains ask those visiting teams if they will host our remaining home fixtures.

A micro CHP generates heat and electricity for use in the home. There are different types. Most suitable for households, the high-efficiency boiler to natural gas for heating and hot water. The device consists of a high-efficiency boiler and a small hot air engine. This engine uses the temperature difference and generates electricity when the cauldron is lit for heating or hot water. This takes some extra gas, but saves on electricity bills. If more power is needed than can deliver the natural gas engine, power is used from the grid.Read more at Gaslicht.com

I think the admin of this web site is actually working hard in favor of his web site, since here every data is quality based information.
