First up was Dan playing Guy, The game started well with both players easing into their stride, but with Dan being up 14-11 in the 1st, eventually lost 15-14. The 2nd game was closer still but again Guy won 15-11. The pace of the game started to take its toll on Dan who managed to keep up with Guy point for point, but Guy pulled ahead in the 3rd winning 15-13, 3-0 overall.
Next up was Mark playing Nathan Dobson, The game started by Nathan winning 15-09 Mark pulled his finger out and won the next game 15-13 then 15-14. Mark was running out of steam and when the fourth game was at 14-14 Mark struggled to finish the game and Nathan won 15 -14 the final game was the same Nathan playing some good squash and winning 15-14.
Next up was Chris playing no2 for the 3rd team this year, Chris played some steady good lengths but was overcome by Lennox Lockwoods tight drop shots and very well disguised boasts at the front of the court. Lennox took the first 2 games 15-14 and 15-10, Chris had his work cut out in the 3rd, but Lennox controlled the pace of the game from the start, eventually winning 15-5 taking the match 3-0.
Next up was Keith playing at 5 this year again, his opponent was the newby Carl Siddal. Carl appeared to struggle with the "who can hit the ball the hardest game" but eventually kept up the pace with Keith and just lost the first 2 games 15-13 each. Keith eased off in the 3rd and 4th letting the determination of Carl come through, he took those games 15-11 and 15-13. The 5th was gruelling encounter to say the least, after being 10-7 down and taking an 100mph squash ball in the back of his leg, Keith pulled it back to 11 all, then again being 13-11 down, Keith found the next 4 points from somewhere and took the match winning the 5th 15-13.
Last was Andy playing Robert Bolt, Robert got straight into his stride with an impressive 10-2 lead in the 1st, Andy had a fight on his hands. At 14-5 down, Andy managed to pull it back to 14-10 but eventually lost 15-10. The 2nd seemed more equal but with Andy leading 9-5, Robert took the next 7 points in a row, and with dropping just one more point to Andy, took the 2nd game 15-10 again. The 3rd had Robert again producing some well disguised drops that had Andy in trouble from the start, Andy came back with some good length and 'nicks', the game was a close point for point, but Robert proved too strong for Andy in the end eventually winning the 3rd 15-10 again, 3-0 overall.
